Hi. We are an environmental team at Hyatts Middle school. We are trying to raise awareness of invasive plant species in our community. Here is some information to get you started:
- Some common invasive plants in central Ohio include amur honeysuckle, Japanese honeysuckle, and wild grapevines.
- Most invasive species are not native to that area.
- Not only are they killing plants and trees, they are also demolishing animal's habitats.
This is what wild grapevines are doing to our community!
This is a picture of what some people may consider "a beauty to our nature" although it actually is an enemy to our future environment.
"Some people may consider them a beauty to our nature, we call them an enemy to our future."
